Cyberdeck P2P Chat: Thread-Based Mesh Networking on ESP32-C6

We’ve made significant progress on Thread-based P2P chat across four ESP32-C6 nodes. The system enables broadcast messaging via serial UART and 1-on-1 direct messaging, all at a cost of under $8 per device.

Inspired by OLPC-era infrastructure-free protocols, this work targets STEM education and explores three research directions: mesh networking for XR, wearable personal area networks (PANs), and Hive Centric AI.

No Foosball No Life: Multiplayer AR Foosball at Lensfest 2026

We presented “No Foosball No Life,” a multiplayer AR foosball game built for Snap Spectacles, at Lensfest February 2026. The game brings the classic tabletop experience into augmented reality, letting players compete in spatial foosball using Spectacles.

Thread/Matter Mesh Networking Experiments with M5NanoC6

We’ve been running Arduino-based mesh networking experiments using the M5NanoC6, building ad-hoc networks that require no infrastructure. The goal is to bring back device-to-device sharing capabilities inspired by IR, AirDrop, and BLE Mesh.

Our tests showed a stable 80-foot range with two nodes. Next steps include a generalized codebase and UART chat interface.

SpaceMathV: Spatial AR Math Visualization on Snap Spectacles

At a recent hackathon, we collaborated to create “SpaceMathV,” a spatial AR lens for Snap Spectacles that visualizes mathematical concepts including lines, planes, and circles in 3D space. This educational tool allows students to physically interact with equations, making abstract math tangible.

The project was inspired by Visicalc, the pioneering spreadsheet software that transformed how people interact with numbers.
